pfSense v2.2.6

Wikipedia Article

The Open Source pfSense project hosted at SourceForge was taken over by Netgate after the release of v2.2.6 (Dec 2015) and they started out on the v2.3.x and now v2.4.x versions which do not sport the PPTP VPN server on it.

Other pfSense developers continued on the FreeBSD route keeping the PPTP VPN Server intact at OPNSense as of Jan 2015 by Deciso B.V. in the Netherlands and began their releases from 2016-01-28.

Version 2.3, released on April 12, 2016, phased out support for legacy technologies such as the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), the Wireless Encryption Privacy (WEP) and Single DES
